Hooray! Gay marriage won’t be on Colorado ballot

By | May 4, 2005

We are slowly seeing the benefits of having a Democratic congress in Colorado. First up: “Republicans Tuesday failed to get a constitutional ban on gay marriage on the November ballot after opponents called it an attempt to write discrimination into the state Constitution.” I don’t understand why the Republicans are trying to pass this through. It would obviously be shot down as unconstitutional, just like Amendment 2 was. For some reason, though, Marilyn Musgrave and Kevin Lundberg just won’t let the issue drop.

Please, Marilyn, Kevin, let’s move on to something that matters. Quit trying to prosecute an entire group of people just because you are afraid of their sexual orientation. We are supposed to be the land of the free!
