Apple’s Music Service

By | April 29, 2003

Apple announces the coolest digital music service available now (aside from eMusic.com, of course). The quick facts:

  • 99 cents per song
  • No subscription feels
  • Free 30-second streaming samples
  • Music licensed from all five major record companies
  • Windows version available by December

This is the type of service that the record companies should’ve allowed four years ago. Apple is going to make a ton of money from this, and a percentage of that revenue is going to be fed right back to the music companies. It’s a win-win situation for Apple, the RIAA, and consumers!
