Will the Colorado Public Utilities Commision please show some spine?

By | October 6, 2005

“Xcel is asking state regulators for permission to raise electric rates by 30 percent. The hikes would go into effect November 1. Residential customers would see costs rise by an average of $16 per month while businesses would likely pay double that.”

Now who here is holding out hope that the Public Utilities Commision (PUC) will tell Xcel “no way”? Anyone? Anyone here in Colorado think that will happen?

What the hell is wrong with the PUC? Will someone tell them that they do not have to approve every rate hike that Xcel proposes? C’mon, PUC, show some spine here! Tell Xcel where they can stick both this and the proposed rate hike for natural gas.
