United States founded on Christianity?

Everyone who has ever tried to debate a conservative Christian has probably run into the same argument from the conservative: “But the US was founded on Christianity! All of the founding fathers were Christians!” It turns out, this argument is simply not true. There is a great post on LiveJournal debunking this arguement, written by someone who did a ton of research into the matter. Facts are, even our founding fathers said directly that the US is not a Christian nation: “‘The United States is not a Christian nation any more than it is a Jewish or a Mohammedan nation.'” (from the Treaty of Tripoli).
