Something else to be angry at the Bush administration about

By | September 10, 2003

Here’s another reason to be angry at the Bush administration. This one came to light in a roundabout way: University of California scientists announced that the World Trade Center ruins spewed toxins into the air around ground zero for weeks. The toxins included heavy metals, acids and organics. Workers at Ground Zero and in surrounding buildings are almost undoubtedly going to have health problems.

But that isn’t the part to be ticked at the Bush administration about. This quote is: “an internal report by the Environmental Protection Agency said the White House pressured the agency to make premature statements that the air was safe to breathe.” The White House forced the EPA to lie to New Yorkers, who had just suffered the worst terrorist attack in the history of our country, and tell them that the air around the attack site was safe.

I am sickened by this story!
