Have you ever wondered what the world looks like at night from space? What would someone in orbit around the earth see when they viewed the earth? Thanks to this picture posted by NASA, you don’t have to wonder any longer. This is a composite shot showing what the continents look like at night. This photo has amazed me, and is now the wallpaper for my work computer.

There is something peaceful, yet sad about this photo. It provides visual evidence of how little natural habitat is left in the world. Where there is a large concentration of lights in this picture, there is an absence of natural habitat. And there are large concentrations of light on a startlingly large percentage of this picture.
