Police harrassment on Cinco De Mayo weekend?

By | May 9, 2005

In their quest to make sure that things didn’t get out of hand on Cinco De Mayo, did Denver police overreact and harrass innocent reveller because they were Hispanic? “We didn?t notice anyone doing anything wrong or behaving illegally, but the police were ALL OVER these people. It looked as if, if someone even looked funny, they were being pulled over and given tickets. It looked to us more like pure harrassment than law enforcement, the hispanic equivalent of DWB, or in this case, DWH.

“They were pulling people over wholesale. We saw 2 people pulled over just driving about a half a mile up the street to the restaurant.”
